Research and Development
Over the last decade, Peters & Burg has invested in R&D and adopted innovative technologies in order to adapt to change and meet the demands of local and global agrochemical markets. Our management and technical teams think innovatively and prioritize environmental sustainability.
Intensive research over 25 years has turned Peters & Burg into a real expert in developing proprietary combinations (so called ‘generic plus products’), which have earned recognition and add value for our customers.
We currently have more than 50 unique developments in our R&D pipeline, and about 100 of our innovative products have been tested, approved, and successfully registered in several markets.
When it comes to technological innovation, Peters & Burg, to meet market demand, is focusing on developing and producing aqueous formulations like:
- Soluble concentrates (SL)
- Suspension concentrates (SC)
- Suspo-emulsions (SE)
- Flowable concentrate for seed treatment (FS)
- Emulsion, oil in water (EW) and micro-emulsions (ME)
In the case of water-sensitive active ingredients we reorient towards oil-dispersions (OD) and have been recently running a lot of trials to introduce capsulated active ingredients (CS, ZW).
As for solvent-based emulsifiable concentrates (EC), we replace dangerous solvents in old formulations. In the case of development of new formulations, we use only eco-friendly and safe inerts which do not cause human or eco-toxicological harm.
We have built up our own patent database in the field of crop protection and gained expertise in preparing, filling and handling patent applications. The company holds more than 20 patents for pesticide products, and several are currently going through the examination stage.
